Chalk
and Cheese continues to deliver the Leader+ Programme of grant funding in rural
Dorset through the Local Action Group,
and has now funded 57 major and 30 small, community led, innovative projects.
The
Small Grant Fund is still open for
applications, and we'd be very happy to hear about your project idea.
We
have proudly supported a range of local food, culture and landscape projects so
far. These include providing support to Fivepenny Farm to build a collaborative,
low impact, small scale processing unit which will be used by over 40 producers
to process meat, dairy, fruit & vegetables as well as herbs.
We've
provided funds to establish the Dorset Centre for Rural Skills to promote sustainable
building techniques and traditional skills across Dorset and the region.
A
grant has helped West Dorset Food and Land
trust to supply local food school
meals to schools in Bridport. Funding to Shillingstone has enabled the village
to set up a community orchard.
We
have helped Screen Bites to bring foody films and local products to hundreds of
people in rural Dorset.
So
many more brilliant projects to tell you about so please do have a look at our
project report that will
soon be available here giving more details on all
57 projects, in their own words. Click here to view project brochure
